I’ve been single since forever, and it’s not because I never find any guys I like… it’s because I lack the confidence to go up to them and flirt. I’m just a bit shy when it comes to meeting guys. So, I turned to the biggest dating apps out there: Tinder and happn.

I’d heard heaps about both of the apps, and I know plenty of my mates here in Melbourne use at least one of them. So I decided to give them both a red hot go and see what happened. I gave myself a week with each app to see if there was much difference. And holy moly, was there a difference.

Monday7:45pm: I really couldn’t face the teasing from my colleagues, so I postponed my experiment until after work. Now I’m home and watching The Bachelor while I create my Tinder profile. Just started swiping, and wow, there are some douchy-looking guys on here. I’ve never seen so many male mirror selfies in my life.

pm: Still here, still swiping. I feel like there are so many idiots on here, and so many don’t even have a bio. How am I supposed to know if I want to know more? Alright enough of this for today, I’m going to sleep.

Tuesday8:20am: Woke up to so many messages and matches this morning, yikes. All that swiping last night seems to have had an impact.
